A bit like dad, I often spend time not asleep at night trying not to try to go to sleep. It is when some of the least useful thoughts of the day surface.
One thought that occurred to me last night was, “could I have lent the other spare house keys to someone else, such as mum and dad, a while ago?”
Not knowing the answer, I read a bit more of a parenting book I disagreed with and went to sleep.
This morning I still do not know the answer.
In other news, dad celebrated his birthday yesterday by not having cake, but was going to be going out for a meal with mum. Carveries are apparently good after a heart attack as you can choose your food carefully.
